Trauma/Critical Care Surgeon - University of Vermont

The Division of Trauma/Critical Care at the University of Vermont invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates will have completed training in trauma and surgical critical care and be board eligible/certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Level of appointment is commensurate with qualifications. This is a full-time 12-month, salaried, tenure track appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with a research background and interests. Current external funding is preferable but not required. Salary is competitive and commensurate with ability and experience.

Pediatric Urologist at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician-educator track or the tenure track. Track will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of pediatric urology with a focus on major surgical reconstructive techniques in children with urologic problems. Responsibilities include patient care, including open, endoscopic and, in particular, robotics surgery; teaching of medical students and residents as well as pediatric urology fellows; and research in the areas of laparoscopy, endoscopy and robotics. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also hold certification by the American Board of Surgery or be eligible for such certification.

Surgical Oncologist - University of California, San Diego

The University of California, San Diego, Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology and Moores Comprehensive Cancer Center seek to recruit a fellowship trained surgical oncologist with a focus on basic research in colorectal cancer. The faculty member will expected to devote 75% of their time to basic research and would be eligible for appointment at the level of Assistant Professor. Salary per published UC scale.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in basic research in colorectal cancer as manifest by high impact publications or grant awards. A focus in fields as stem cell or receptor tyrosine kinase biology are preferred. The candidate should also have excellent clinical skills in the care of patients with colorectal cancer and general surgical oncology. Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center - Chief of the Gastric and Mixed Tumor Service

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Department of Surgery has begun the search for a new Chief of the Gastric and Mixed Tumor Service and as part of our effort to increase the diversity of our faculty at MSKCC, they are identifying female and minority candidates for this position.

Candidates should be widely known as outstanding surgeons in treating gastric cancer, sarcoma, melanoma, or endocrine tumors and should be regarded as effective leaders by their peers and trainees. A track record of successful mentoring is essential. Individuals should be accomplished in clinical, translational, or laboratory research. The Chief will have academic, clinical, research, and administrative
responsibilities. He/she will provide surgical leadership for the collaboration of a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, medical oncologists, pathologists, diagnostic radiologists, interventional radiologists, and gastroenterologists. Continuation of excellence in clinical care is a priority. A vital function will be to maintain an interactive and cooperative environment that fosters education and research by staff members, surgical fellows, and residents. There is considerable potential to expand research activities as part of ongoing institutional initiatives to promote translational research in oncology and develop innovative image-guided therapies.

1. Participating as teaching faculty in the busy trauma service for one week at a time
2. Participate in home based trauma and general surgery call with other faculty
3. Participating as teaching faculty in the 16 bed surgical and burn ICU
4. Active involvement in the residents and medical students teaching
5. Emergency General Surgery practice while covering the acute care surgery service.
6. Participating in clinical and basic science research in our state of the art newly renovated lab space.
